Rhythmnreel are a Rock band with an upbeat foot stomping Celtic vibe. Their music is driven by thumping bass, drums & guitars, embellished with fiddle, whistle & Highland bagpipes, enveloped in the warm tones of the saxophone with songs & melodies that once inside your ears won’t leave you even in your deepest slumber. They have been favourites at the Applecross Games and we are delighted to welcome them to the hall this year.

Opening for Rhythmnreel is Applecross' very own Niamhy Mac. Niamhy Mac is an eighteen year old singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist (guitar, cello, bass guitar, keyboard) and producer. While she is mainly influenced by classic songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Lou Reed and Bob Dylan, her style is influenced by a variety of genres including Alternative Rock, Funk,  Classic Rock and Folk.

Two in a Barrel

Wed 24 Aug

283791237_5441164389248919_7843877514890

“Two in a Barrel” is a clown-inspired, physical theatre performance for
young audiences about the waste we create, the destructive consequences of our habits, and co-existing in an environment with limited resources. By looking at mass consumerism and the destructive effects (non bio- degradable) waste has on our environment, this Beckett-meets-Pixar show poses questions about the trash we produce and invokes awareness and environmental activism. Using a variety of physical and visual theatre traditions, including shadow puppetry and object manipulation, this show is sure to delight the entire family!

Hot-desking / remote working at the Hall

Weekly

A laptop, notebook and a mug sitting on a desk

Do you work from home in Applecross (or elsewhere)? Would you like a change of scenery and work around other people every once in a while? We're trialling a hotdesking space (a temporary shared office space) for a small fee per person to cover the room rent.

Bring your own laptop and lunch/snacks, and stay however long you prefer. Free tea/coffee and biscuits available. The wifi is suitable for light office work.

We're working with Applecross Community Company to trial demand for this sort of service possibly to continue in the community space in Camusterrach in future, should the community purchase of the building go ahead.

Please get in touch if you're interested and check our Facebook for updates!

Applecross community hall

Covid-19 measures

The Applecross Community Hall is a friendly and versatile space for the Applecross community and visitors in Applecross, Scotland. We host exercise classes and groups led by Applecross locals, music events and plays, strupags and markets, among others. We are also an ideal venue for weddings and other functions in a beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands.

April 2022 - As government restrictions are easing, we are also starting events and activities at the Hall again. To help protect the Applecross community, we kindly ask that any Hall users continue to wear a face covering when not eating/drinking, clean their hands regularly and ventilate rooms where possible.
